Description: This beautiful cotton 1860's red and green turkey tracks quilt is all hand pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted, with sawtooth and floral borders.It measures 86" X 88" and is in good condition, with age spotting and surface dirt in places, and the beginnings of fabric deterioration in a few places (mostly the reds, see pics.). The hand quilting is superb, with grid, floral, fern, straight line, and other designs quilted throughout at an even 10-12 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is green, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light. The LUSH HAND QUILTING and GREAT BORDERS make this vintage 19th century beauty stand out!
