Description: Tex Shoemaker & Sons of San Dimas, California was famous for producing high quality "gun leather" (pistol holsters and cartridge belts) for over 80 years, beginning in ca. 1936, and ultimately closing their doors in 2017 as a three generation family business. Tex Shoemaker and his kin were truly some of the last old time gun leather makers. This Vintage TEX SHOEMAKER S&W 6" MODEL 29 DIRTY HARRY .44 REVOLVER HOLSTER, GUN BELT RIG is in very good condition, with a small nick in the front left belt loop, and with some scattered scratching, darkening, and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the rig is in fine shape, with no other damage to the elegant "saddle" brown leather construction. Most interestingly, the belt is a Size 35, boasts a fully functional leather strap and bright brass buckle front closure, and sports 24 shell loops for .44 ammo along the back. It's stamped at the underside of the front strap end tip with the classic "6 pointed star" maker's logo of the famous "TEX / SHOEMAKER / & SONS", features a soft grayish suede "roughout" leather sewn lining, and is complete with the original, perfectly matching open top and open toe holster with a rawhide leather hammer thong at the upper left side, a longer rawhide leather tie down thong at bottom, and a bright brass buckled leather front cross strap affixing the holster to its backing skirt. The holster exhibits a matching soft grayish suede "roughout" leather sewn lining at the interior front and the entire back, bears no retention strap, securing the revolver through tension alone, and is stamped at the interior front of the backing skirt with the matching maker's logo of the famous "TEX / SHOEMAKER / & SONS", along with the model, "905 / 6 / 44", denoting it's for a Smith & Wesson N-Frame .44 revolver with a 6" barrel, such as the Model 29, the iconic "Dirty Harry" revolver.
