Description: Vintage velvet kimono coat and matching shawl Set This gorgeous item is called a ‘Kimono Coat” and includes a matching shawl. It is made of luxurious, purple Rayon velvet in what looks like a leaf or feather design. The sleeves are rounded and designed to accomodate the sleeves of your kimono and to fit over the obi at the back. It ties inside and then buttons to one side and has a large pearly button at the collar. It is lined in a purple Rayon satin frbric. The matching shawl can be worn over the coat for extra warmth on cold days. It was probably originally purchased in the 1970s - 80s but is in perfect, never-worn condition in its origianl box with tags. This is a relatively rare item for us to carry and this is a particularly beautiful one. It was made in Japan before such items were produced in other Asian counries as the tend to be now. Note that iridescent pruple is difficult to photograph accurately but the photos look close to the original - deep purple tones. The box has some shelf-wear. See photos for other details.
