Description: Vintage Japanese lacquered writing desk with drawer in need of restoration Has 2 doors on the top which open up to reveal a lift out tray and compartment below.On the underside of the each of the doors is a beautiful picture in colour coloured paintA handle on each of the short edgesAt the front there is a drawer. No key or handle but if you tilt the box forward, it will open. The drawer has 4 compartments; 2 small side ones, one of which has a curved pen tray.At the top of the drawer is a long compartment.The drawer's main section has a lift up lid which raises from 2 hinges at the front. It has a small arm at the rear left hand side to keep this lid raised. On the lid, is another beautiful golden picture. Size (approx.): 56.5cm long, 31cm wide x 12.3cm tall Condition: It has already had some restoration (filler and paint) but you may want to redo, as the re- painting looks a little heavy handed.Wood is worn, especially at the edges.No key to any of the 3 locks. No key but unlockedInside is dusty.Hinges work well, if a little tarnished. Metalwork is dull in colour. If you need close up photos of other sections, please message and I will add them. This box needs a lot of TLC but will be stunning once this has been completed
