Description: Vintage Bombay Company Art Deco Polished Metal Spire Obelisk. Measures 23 1/4" tall; the top spire metal section is 17 1/4" long and the base bottom is 5 1/8" square. It weighs 5.9 pounds ounces. Would make a good doorstop or could be used for many decorative purposes. Has the Bombay Co. label on the bottom felt. Has some minor edge wear but no noteworthy damage, I would call it fine - please check my 9 photos as I show every side and angle in detail. The Bombay Company was founded in 1978 by Brad Harper in New Orleans as a mail-order company. Harper later opened two retail stores in New Orleans. In 1980, Harper sold the U.S. operating rights and established overseas supply channels to the Fort Worth, Texas-based holding company Tandy Brands, Inc., which is publicly traded on NASDAQ.In 1981, Tandy Brands purchased the Canadian rights from Robert Nourse, though Nourse continued to manage the Canadian operations. In 1983, Nourse moved to the United States and assumed responsibility for retail operations. As of January 21, 2008, all U.S. retail stores were liquidated and closed. In February 2008.
