Description: A beautiful antique Victorian era silver plated mosaic serving tray from The Waldorf-Astoria hotel! The original hotel opened in 1893, combined a few years later with the Astoria hotel next-door and was demolished to make way for the Empire State building. The current Waldorf-Astoria building was built in 1931. A rare piece of New York City hotel history! In excellent condition for a piece that’s 120+ years old, no large dents or damage. Some surface scratches and small marks/bumps you’d expect from old hotel silver that was used daily. The silver plating is in beautiful condition. Marked on the base with Gorham marks and the date mark for 1897, dating this piece to the opening of the merged Waldorf-Astoria hotel! Tray measures approximately 11” wide less DIMENSIONS 11ʺW × 11ʺD × 1.25ʺH
