Description: Vintage Antique Hand-Hooked Rug, 57” X 35” Excellent Condition, Pretty Colors and Design This lovely hooked rug from the 1950s-60s or thereabouts looks like a Pearl McGown pattern. It has a pretty oval rose medallion in the center of the rug featuring 6 roses with 6 buds and leaves in shades of wine, pink, beige and green. A black border surrounds the whole design in which a beige-sand interior background is striated, giving movement to the piece and setting off the lovely bouquet of roses and rosebuds in a bouquet at the center. Lovely colors predominate like rose, wine and pink with dark green leaves. The internal border is leafy scrolls in greens and beige separating the black from the striated beige interior. The rug is in excellent condition. The edges and binding are tight, with no tears or flaws observed. The back is in fine condition. Little if any fading is noted, comparing the back to the front. This rug would be lovely in any room and complements many color schemes. The wool was mostly if not entirely dyed by hand, making this a very labor-intensive product.
