Description: Rarely available, made in Japan Sansui, AU-5500. Tested, and all six inputs (phono, tuner, aux one, aux two, tape one, tape two) working. All three tone controls working. Loudness and muting working. Sounds great! However… I am getting some static and cackle, when I am changing the volume, or the balance. If I adjust the volume very slowly, I don’t seem to get the cackle. Trying to quickly increase or decrease the volume, I get cackle and pop. Moving the balance knob, also causes distorting noise. Cosmetics are very good. Certainly not mint, but highly presentable. Please do see the photos, and you will note a few of the selector switches are bent. No impact on functionality.
