Description: This wonderful cotton 40's red, white and blue birds in flight quilt is hand pieced and machine pieced, and hand quilted.It measures 66" X 82" and is in excellent condition, with the occasional small, inconspicuous spot and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. There is hand quilting around the piecework and in daisy, heart, and straight line designs quilted in the background, all at 7 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is rolled over from the front, and the batting is thin. The quilt came out of western Pennsylvania.
