Description: US Civil War era British Pattern 1853 Enfild socket bayonet. This is a standard unbushed P1853 bayonet. This piece has no British government markings, indicating that it may have been imported to the States during the American Civil War. Enfield's were imported into both the North and South. In fact, the Enfield was the second most common rifle used in the American Civil War, with nearly one million imported and used by both sides. This bayonet measures 21" long. The tapered blade portion measures approximately 17 ½" long, 7/8" wide at the ricasso and has a 3" long socket. The bayonet shows some pationation but nothing major. There are no dings, nicks or knocks. Good condition overall. The item is in the UK. I ship WORLDWIDE at $34.99 and also combine shipping.
