Adding to TipTop Audio and Buchla's collaboration recreating famous 200 series modules for Eurorack, the 257 provides the same magic as the original. It features two channels of three different voltage processing tools making it ideal as a voltage source, sound shaping tool, and performance device. Though it may seem complicated, the 257t essentially consists of two sections - top and bottom - both of which contain three voltage processing functions including an attenuverter, CV-controllable crossfader, and offset generator. Each of these three processes is summed together, creating a wide variety of utility voltage processing functions. The attenuverter is used for scaling and inverting external CV. The voltage-controllable crossfader optimized for use mixing control voltages. You can use it to proportionally balance between two CV signals and adjust the proportional balance with an incoming control voltage. With only one input you can use the CV input like a rudimentary VCA. The left channel of the crossfader features a button to internally connect a +5V offset signal providing simplified and unusual ways of signal scaling/inversion when modulating the crossfader. The simple but tunable 10V offset is ideal for introducing negative signals into the positive or even balancing voltage range you want your signal to affect. These are all summed at the end for a highly-definable output. You can double the complexity of this processor by routing the first to the second.
