Includesappendices with locations of the brewery, cricket club, garden club, hiring acarriage, list of houses and occupants for the 1888 "Season" (LadyGordon, Mrs. M. Thwaites, General Massy, etc.). Very proper! Obviously aimed ata British Empire/Expat readership. The general contents include A ShortHistorical Sketch; A Topographical Description of Kandy and Neighborhood;Nuwara Eliya and the Way There; The Hakgala Experimental Gardens. With apreface by Burrows and a section of fascinating advertisements for hotels,newspapers, art associations, shops, etc. A very special and scarce little gem.
