The book has a brown suede outer jacket and is personalized with a stamp of Ex Libras, Evelyn Hanscom (later Green). The top of the pages are gilded. I have numerous items from Evelyn Hanscom (Green) including photos. I would suggest this copy is from the early 1900's based on Evelyn's age (born 1897, married and name changed to Green in 1919). Provenance - Evelyn Hanscom (later Green) was an artistic child as evidenced by an early grade school sketch book full of colored drawings, mainly of flowers (NFS). She was later known for her period Dolls with appropriate Period Costumes. The story goes that she sold her collection in later years to the Smithsonian (passed on by family members, I can't substantiate this claim). You can still find examples of her dolls for sale online. Size: 4 3/4" Width - 7 1/4" Height Condition: - Poor General Overall Used Condition. I am not proficient in grading books and will simply identify what I see when reviewing this example. The exterior cover displays wear, fraying, rough edges and a general overall worn appearance. The binding from page 1 on is intact but shows wear and weakness from handling. The pages prior to page one (including title page) have come loose with tears (see pictures). The pages display uniform discoloration expected for a book of this age. I would suggest the pages are in fair to good condition. Please see the pictures to view the condition of the items for yourself. Please ask any additional questions you might have.
