Specialized Allez - Early 1990s - Campagnolo Centaur Rebuild

Description: Complete rebuild and modernization of totally cherry vintage specialized Allez frame. Size 52cm (top tube center to center measures to 20.5” which is 520.7mm). Center bottom bracket to top of seat tube measurement: I’m getting at 19.625 inches which is about 498.5mm. This frame in this condition alone is a catch, not to mention the sweet custom refurb total package offered here. This is the coolest retro bike you will find in a long time. STEEL IS REAL. These frames are legendary and this is a serious enthusiast or collector level refurb. Likely 1992 or 1993 frame. Check vintage catalogues. Serial number appears to be PL266362. Specialized “direct drive” custom butted chromoly frame in GREAT condition. Only minor cosmetic nits here or there. See photos. Shiny race red original paint totally kicks. Complete strip rebuild from frame up with BRAND NEW modern components when built up in 2020. When rebuilt in July 2020: Fitted with NEW Centaur 11 speed group set. 170mm cranks. 50/34 crankset. 11-32 cassette. Crisp modern shifting. Powerful modern dual pivot brakes. Campy cool factor! Nice retrofit of new parts on vintage frame. Impeccable attention to detail—nice cable stops, derailleur hanger, etc. to make the build all work seamlessly. Fitted with NEW Nitto accessories - seat post, handlebars, “pearl” quill stem. THE HIGHEST QUALITY JAPANESE ALLOY PARTS AVAILABLE. Glossy black alloy adds classic looks, BOMBPROOF quality, and very slick finishing on race red frame. Each component is approx $100 itself, easily $300 total. Fitted with NEW velo orange grand cru headset. High quality black retro style headset keeps it all together. $55 new. Currently paired with panaracer 26mm gravelking tires. This is about as wide as you will fit on this bike, so if you are hoping for a big gravel conversion, you should look elsewhere.
