Sansui QRX 6500 AM/FM Stereo/Quad Receiver - Tested/Serviced, Working. EX+!!!

Description: This listing is for a Sansui QRX-6500 Receiver in excellent cosmetic and functional condition. The walnut veneer case is in excellent condition, and was just refreshed with hand-rubbed oil finish. It has been tested/serviced and is working. If offers many options for those with 4 channel source material (was tested using a Quad 8-track player) as well as providing simulated 4 channel sound from stereo sources using Sansui’s QS Synthesizer technology. Color copies of the QRX Product Line, QRX-6500 Product Brochure, Operating Instructions and Service Manual will be included to help provide detailed instruction in how to properly set-up and operate the unit. The following outline covers the testing/service work done: · All speaker connections were tested and working - right/left, main/remote channels. · The tuner section was tested – FM stations were found across the dial using only a simple di-pole 300 Ω antenna and AM reception was good on strong local stations. · Tape and Aux inputs and outputs were tested and function as expected. · Phono 1 and 2 inputs were tested and function as expected. · Headphone jack was tested and is working. · All Switches and Potentiometers were flushed with contact cleaner, followed by treatment with the appropriate Deox-It formula. · Two large capacitors had failed damaging 2 output transistors and various resistors. All were replaced and restored proper function. See last pictures of all replaced parts · The faceplate and all knobs were removed, cleaned and hand polished. · Radio Dial and Meter lamps were replaced with Warm White LED’s. Please note: This unit was designed so that Radio Dial and Meters only light up when AM or FM is selected. · All Stereo/Source/Mode lamps were replaced. · Offset and Bias were set to factory spec. · Cleaning on all exterior surfaces was done to improve appearance. · Any missing top cabinet or bottom plate screws were replaced. · The power cord was cleaned and inspected. · The last picture shows the replaced parts. Its broad range of unique features, unlimited power, flexibility and superb tonal quality make it the finest 4-channel receiver Sansui makes today. First of all, the QRX-6500 is a complete 4-channel stereo control center. Its functions can be divided into three major areas; the Sansui QS 4-channel Synthesizer and Decoder, the 4-channel, 280-watt integrated amplifier section, and the super-sensitive stereo FM/AM tuner. At the heart of the 4-channel QS Synthesizer and Decoder section is the team of circuits which together make up the new Sansui QS Regular Matrix decoder with QS vario-matrix.
