Description: LUCIOUS LARGE LEAF SABAL PALMSABAL PALMETTO 3FT MATUREEXCEPTIONAL TOP QUALITY SHIPS IN 7-GALLON CONTAINER SPRING SALE - SPECIAL PRICES This is one of the hardy palms our nursery is proud to offer - the most beautiful and lush variety of Sabal palms that can flourish in good or harsh conditions. See the photo of the parent and then a sample photo of this 3 ft Sabal Palmetto shipped in a 7-gallon container. This Sable is one of our popular and affordable 5-year-old young palms we have been successfully selling here on eBay for 17 years. Our Sabal Palmettos are the most the most beautiful and lush varieties, known for their very large 3-foot to 6-foot arched leaves and large diameter trunk with beautiful fibrous characteristics with no spines (closeup photos). You can easily grow this palm outdoors in a much larger container as a pool-side or patio plant. You can't go wrong selecting our Sabal Palmetto palms that are professionally shipped and have a 1-year no fault guarantee. You can be assured your Sabal Palm will not just be luscious and pretty, but is very tough with a very strong will to live. Look at the photo of the parent Sabal Palmetto that we used to select seeds. This Sabal randomly grew by our office driveway on concrete and asphalt beside a chain link fence. When they were repaving the parking lot, this palm was cut down and the surface paved over. Astonishingly it survived by growing a new tree through the asphalt and lived to maturity! We made sure it was moved to an area friendly to palm trees, where it had many new friends. Our Sabal Palmettos are vigorous in good or challenging conditions such as droughts and cold. We hand pick the seeds from parent Sabal Palmettos and grow them at our family-owned nursery in North Florida. These seeds and then mature palms have already been "hardened" to the cold conditions of USDA Zone 8b in North Florida. The ability to survive in such low temperatures starts with seed germination, and continues to the next stage as young blades (liners), taking place outdoors under natural conditions. We believe this affects the seeds to produce offspring that can survive at lower temperatures (to 10 degrees Fahrenheit) than most palms. As newly germinated seeds and seedlings, our young Sabal Palmettos were never in a greenhouse or covered during the winter and have survived multiple days below freezing with no leaf damage. These Sabal Palmettos are hardy to USDA Zones 8a and 8b and surprisingly some have survived in certain parts of USDA Zone 7. There are many photos of Sabal Palms in northern climates covered with snow. Here are some of our very adaptable Sabal Palmetto’s characteristics:Easy to Grow,Extra Large 3-6 ft Fan-Shaped Leaves, Mature 20-30 feet in height, Cold and Heat Tolerant, Grows in Wide Range of Soil Types, Salt Tolerant, Full Sunlight to Shade, Water Drought Tolerant, Full Sunlight to Shade, Beautiful Spineless Trunk. An interesting note about this palm tree is that it has edible parts that are used for food and the Native Americans valued this variety. The sweet blossoms are used to make a dark honey. The dark blue fruit is abundant and tastes a bit like blueberries/prunes. The seeds can be ground to make a flour-like meal for bread. The heart of the palm and the center core of the trunk is also used for food but that of course requires killing the tree. If you are preparing for hard times in the future then this palm tree is a good one for survival food and medicine! Compare the photos of our trees with 3-6 ft wide leaves to other Sabal varieties that may have short, stocky and smaller leaves. These palms look very interesting when planted in a group of three - see clustered snow photo from northern location (photo credit unknown) showing their cold hardy nature.Backyard Paradise Customer Service Incredible Guarantee: We want you to enjoy your plants without worry and we send only the best healthy plants to ensure your success. All of us have made mistakes by forgetting to water, watering too much, or your horse pulled the new plants out of the ground - yes that happened to me!!. We will mail a replacement plant to you for the first year that is similar to the original plant as long as you pay the shipping. It does not matter why the plant failed - you will have our replacement coming to you right away. We will give you the best customer service with our no hassle policy. Shipping Information: Shipping by UPS to the continental USA is calculated as you purchase an item and check out. We try to ship plants on Mondays because of weather that can be either winter cold or summer heat and we don't want the plants sitting in a truck or warehouse over the weekend. Your payment must clear before we can ship. We are not able to combine orders for larger palms like this one in a 7-gallon container - each palm needs its individual 12x12 box. If there is any problem with your shipment arriving damaged, you must immediately take multiple photos of the damaged box outside and inside and damaged plants and message to me. Unfortunately, we cannot ship Sabals to Texas due to their quarantine and costly $250-$300 requirements. We do not ship to international countries because live palms are damaged due to the long time for Customs to release the package for delivery. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Our Backyard Paradise Nursery is licensed in Florida by the State of Florida Dept of Agriculture and our nursery stock adheres to the certifications required by Florida including random inspections and lab tests.See Our Other Backyard Paradise Cold Hardy Palms On eBay___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for Looking - Backyard Paradise Nursery Buy Certified Licensed Palms State of Florida - Dept of Agriculture - Consumer Services Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
