Description: IT COMES WITH THE PG-200 PROGRAMMER! Which alone costs between $500-$600!!! BOLD CLAIM: BETTER THAN JUNO 106? INTRO: ROLAND’S FIRST SYNTH WITH MIDI! CONDITION: This MUSICIAN'S DREAM-GEAR is FULLY FUNCTIONAL, and I would say it is in EXCELLENT condition! However, and respectfully, since everyone has different standards, please don't take my word for it; I'll let the pictures do the talking. 🙂 WHY BUY FROM ME: ARE YOU TIRED OF BUYING USED GEAR THAT DOESN’T WORK PROPERLY/ISN’T WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE? WE (me and my wife) OFFER SOMETHING THAT NO ONE ELSE IS OFFERING! When you buy from us, you get a gear that: has been FULLY INSPECTED/SERVICED, is FULLY FUNCTIONAL (unless stated otherwise), has been FULLY DETAILED AND SANITIZED, and comes with NO SURPRISES! After you buy, and before we ship, WE DO A FINAL INSPECTION (while taking a video providing proof) making sure everything is still as it should be, and then WE PACK IT PROFESSIONALLY (preventing damages from occurring during its journey). And finally, WE RECYCLE / (if possible) RE-USE EVERYTHING, to help reduce our carbon foot-print. IF YOU LOVE SYNTHS, PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER LISTINGS, AND MAYBE SHARE WITH FRIENDS/FOLLOW? Your support would give me the fuel to continue my mission, which is to bring as many of these old beauties back to life as possible, and preserve these treasures for the future generations. Also, I have a list of some of my favorite keyboards available for sale at the bottom of this ad; be sure to check it out. SERVICE HISTORY: I am sure that if you are looking at this item, you know everything about it. So, I will first tell you about this particular gem: IT HAS JUST BEEN FULLY INSPECTED/SERVICED AND IS READY FOR A NEW HOME! The following services were just done, which cost me over $700! IF you find another one for less than what mine is selling for, and since most of the used ones out there, that are supposed to be "fully functional", turn out NOT to be; you will then need to find someone who would work on these (which is very rare nowadays), and then who knows how much it would cost to make it fully functional??! Especially since these synths are over 40 years old, which means unless they had just been serviced, hardly any of them would be fully functional; and CONDITION IS EVERYTHING! SERVICES DONE: Full inspection Load tested for 2 hours Key-bed serviced 4 dead keys repaired (all the rest fully restored) All keys removed and washed! All sliders/knobs serviced MIDI board repaired and overhauled Programmer taken apart and fully serviced All contacts cleaned Factory reset performed Fresh board battery installed Battery socket installed for ease of future replacement Volume pot serviced 1 slider replaced All original factory presets re-programmed All switches serviced Cleaned inside and out PERSONAL OPINION: After trying it on/having fun with it (the best part about what I do with every single synth I get/have 😄), these are my professional insights/opinions about this magnificent machine: I LOVE THIS THING!!! The end… :D The JX-3P is something of a hidden treasure – there is more to it than meets the eye. It came out about the same time as the venerable JUNO series, but represents a shift away from the traditional analog synthesizer interface and towards a less hands-on format. The JX-3P was mostly aimed towards players looking for those great stable Roland sounds of the time, but with immediate Preset-based access to them, and only the most basic and newbie-friendly of on-board controls to adjust them. (Note the space reserved on-board for holding sheet music in place.) That is not to say this is a dumbed down synth, but rather, the digital technologies being explored by Roland at the time allowed for greater programability while simultaneously reducing the need for dedicated hands-on controllers per parameter - a path most synth manufacturers walked down during the eighties. This means that sliders and knobs were being phased out in favor of push-buttons, fewer sliders and a powerful programming interface tucked away “under the hood”. The JX-3P shares the same great analog filters and VCAs as the JUNO and even the JUPITER series. Just like the JUNO, it’s a six voice polyphonic feeding digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs) through analog filters, envelopes and amps. However, the JX-3P has two oscillators per voice instead of the single osc. found in the JUNO synths, and while that does allow for greater flexibility, the onboard programming interface is a lot less fun and hands-on than that of a JUNO, no doubt contributing to the popularity the JUNO series enjoys over the JX-3P. You will need the optional PG-200 programmer if you want a real hands-on experience with the JX-3P. BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE VIDEO; IT'S FUN! 😜 (Please keep in mind that the video is just a generic one from YouTube, and is not made by me, or this particular keyboard. 🙂) READ ALL ABOUT THIS DEVICE BELOW! (under "some specs from the web") THIS WOULD MAKE AN AMAZING GIFT FOR ALL OCCASIONS, INCLUDING CHRISTMAS, BIRTHDAY, ANNIVERSARY... 😉 Please feel free to ask me any questions; I will try my best to find the answers for you. Also, let me know if you need any more pictures. Thank you, Kevin P.s. I PACK SAFE and SHIP FAST! A VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVc_udSmapQ WHY BUY FROM ME? (full version) When you're buying a vintage (or just a used) car, does the condition matter? Of course it does! 😊 Are two used cars that are the same make and model the same? Would all similar (year, make and model) cars sell at the same price? No; there are many factors that would decide what price they fetch. Mileage, body, functionality, extra options, service history, past use... and one of the most important ones is CONDITION, which is everything! That is the reason a factory certified used Mercedes, fetches at least $4000 more, than the one you'd buy from a private seller you find on Craigslist.😊That's why when it comes to buying a used car, price is not everything... And buying a secondhand synthesizer, is no different than purchasing a vintage or used car. Yes, I'm proud of my children for sure. Mainly because when it comes to used keyboards and synths (just like used cars), condition is EVERYTHING! I have searched hard, hand-picked and collected only the best of the best that are in pristine condition (majority of them); and then had them professionally inspected, serviced/repaired (if needed), reprogrammed/restored (if needed), detailed... There's definitely value in that. On average, I spend about 5 hours on every single keyboard, before offering it for sale, and if they're not serviced, or if they don't pass the inspection, I DON’T SELL THEM! I believe in selling ONLY high-quality items, to ensure that my clients are very happy with their purchase, which produces repeats, referrals and customers for life! 😁Not to mention the professional musicians that need to count on their instrument's reliability, as their livelihood depends on it. I have the biggest respect/admiration for the professional musicians, and want them to have peace of mind when they step on the stage… In contrast, when it comes to USED GEAR FROM OTHER SOURCES, including the major retailers, you'd have to keep your fingers crossed until it arrives... And most often, they are NOT WHAT THEY WERE DESCRIBED TO BE, and most often, there is something wrong with the gear (as I am sure you, just like me, have experienced many times before). And often enough turn into headaches or heartaches... However, you can rest assured, that if you buy from me, you will get a fully functional gear, and you'll get to see tons of details and pictures, before making up your mind! 🙂 No retailer would service them prior to the sale (they don’t even wipe it down!), as it costs an additional $300-$400! Not to mention finding a Synth Tech is extremely difficult/costly nowadays! And that is what I do, as a labor of love! I do this because I really enjoy ANYTHING and EVERYTHING about synthesizers! Buying, selling, fixing, collecting, playing...I just love them! 😍 And finally, CUSTOMER SERVICE, which is also one of the major factors in retail/buying. I try my very best to provide everyone with the best possible service and experience; a fun one!I do this in a timely manner, even/specially after the sale, which is often where most sellers disappear, or just don't care/reply... Also, I am a HUGE believer in preserving, not just synthesizers (especially vintage!), but also our planet! So, I recycle EVERYTHING, and re-use as many parts as I can (fully functioning parts from donors), to help reduce our carbon foot-print. If you've made it this far on this very long scroll 😄, you have my biggest thank you! A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I am a 46-year-old, with a degree in Electronics Engineering, who LOVES Synthesizers, sounds, Music, and Electronics in general. Even though I do not work in the Electronics industry; I have always loved/adored it, never separated from it; and as a hobby, I collect and restore them; and sometimes sell them to make room for others... I've been around Synthesizers for over three decades, have serviced/restored hundreds of them, and have hundreds of the rarest/most sought-after synthesizers/keyboards available for sale. (which is one of the largest selections of used synthesizers found in one place!) SOME SPECS FROM THE WEB: (The following information is from the web, and not my words, so I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the statements, but believe them to be accurate, to the best of my limited knowledge on this instrument) Polyphony - 6 voices Oscillators - 2 DCO's per voice Memory - 32 preset, 32 user Filter - Resonant Low pass and High pass filters Effects - Chorus Arpeg/Seq - 128-step Sequencer Keyboard - 61 keys Control - MIDI (no velocity except with a special ROM upgrade) Date Produced - 1983 · Type: Synth/ keyboard/ · Synthesis Type: Analog hybrid · Polyphony: · Max: 6 · Typical in use: 6 · Multi-timbral (number of parts): 16? · Oscillators per Voice : · Min : 2 · Max : 2 · Controllers : foot pedal · Effects : · Number of FX units : 1 · Number of different effects : 1 · Drum Section : · Number of Drum Kits : 0 · Number of Drum sounds : 0 · Keyboard : · Number of Keys : 61 · Can send on ? simultaneous MIDI channels · Responds to : · Sounds can be split by : · Memory : · Patches : 32 · Performances : 0 · Inputs and Outputs : · Number of Audio Outs (excluding Phones) : 2 · Number of Audio Ins : 0 · Number of MIDI Outs (excluding Thru) : 1 · Number of MIDI Ins : 1 · Upgrade Options : PG-200 Comments about the sounds : think 80's metalic, harsh, dirty, lo-fi, cheezy beauties!!! Sounds to check out : i love the elect piano's, and organs for 'realistic' instruments, but you can pretty much find a use for every sound, bar maybe the brass sounds... Thanks to Zachary Ruokari for the info. LIST OF SOME OF MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE: I have over 500 synthesizers for sale!
