Description: Here we have an extremely rare motor oil can from Atlanta, GA, with WW2 and Japanese connections. This is one of only three of this rare can known to exist! The graphics show an American bald eagle with the Japanese rising sun in the background. With this can being from the 1950s shortly after WW2, there's no doubt the graphic designer was symbolizing America's victory over Japan in WW2. The brand name "Western Gold" also has American western hemisphere implications. Another unusual aspect about the graphics is that the rising sun goes all the way around the can, including the sides. I'm not aware of any other Georgia oil cans that have graphics from the front carrying over to the sides like this.
