Description: New Gates Power Grip hose clamps. These nifty clamps slide over your coolant hoses, and shrink when heat is applied, leaving a clean looking, durable and reliable clamp connection (see our 69 Corvette sample photo). These clamps are 1 TIME USE! That means you need to cut them, and discard them if you need to remove the hose. We use these when splicing hoses together, or when we want a nice, clean looking engine. These can be used on heater and radiator hoses. The cardboard tube inside the clamp is there to keep the clamp straight in storage, and is discarded prior to use. A typically installation would be to remove the cardboard tube, slide the proper size clamp over the hose, heat the clamp evenly with a heat gun (NO TORCHES NOR FLAMED GUNS), and watch it shrink. Once it's cooled, it's done and you can move onto the next clamp. The sizes listed are general ID sizes, but the OD size the the minimum and maximum use of the clamp. For example, the 3/4" ID hose clamp will slide over a hose with an outside diameter of 1 1/16" to 1 3/16". If your 3/4" heater hose is thicker than a normal heater hose, such as a reinforced hose, you may need to order a 7/8" if your outside diameter, if you have very thin, cheap heater hose, you may need a 5/8" clamp if your 3/4" hose does not fall into the range of the PowerGrip. You should be measuring ALL your outside diameters prior to ordering to ensure you are ordering the correct size. Price is per clamp.
