Description: Get M1 For The Roadâ„¢Here at 'Get M1 For The Road', we're big fans of ALL things M1 helmet related! Lately we've found ourselves with too many M1 items and not enough free space, so it's time to thin the herd a bit. Our loss is your gain! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away - is an M1 shell from the late 60's (Vietnam War Era) and a (BARELY) newer liner. Further details are listed below:Intelligence Brief: This helmet is complete, but it's been through a lot. It's seen some action, no doubt. I've had the liner (hardhat) and shell (lid) for a while, but I'm trying to trim the fat a bit. I'm selling the liner & lid together, but on top of that, I'm including a camo cover and band for FREE. This helmet is in good shape and there's nothing broken or missing (like the webbing or loops/bails - aside from the flaw listed below, that is). It's 'been there', so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds. Without further ado, here are all of the details: ----OPERATIONAL SPECIFICS----Liner SitRep: This one is an orange vinyl version of the 'P73' model and is in pretty good overall condition. It was made by Marmac (I assume) on Sept 7, 1973 (a few months after the U.S. started withdrawing from Vietnam). There's a stamp in the crown which reads "M 10". When I bought this one, it was completely stripped. I added the webbing, nape strap and headband. ALL are from '85 and ALL are NOS (New Old Stock --> never used). The only major(-ish) flaws with this liner are A) There's some slight fading of the paint near the rim and B) The liner doesn't fit perfectly into the shell (which is typical of these nylon ones). It's a REALLY good fit for a nylon liner, however. Even with the cover on, it sticks out less than 3/16" on the sides.Shell SitRep: This one was made by the Parish Division of the Dana Corp. between 10/68 & 8/69. The heat stamp reads... well, heck if I know. I've never been able to find it, even after all these years. I can tell you with 95% accuracy that it IS a Parish, however. That being said, I suppose that it coooooould be an Ingersoll, but I doubt it. Either way, it was made in the '60s. As for the chin straps, it has the Post-Vietnam ones. (Made from 1973 until the late 80's.) Also, one of the bails/loops has a popped weld, but unless you go off to war with it, it shouldn't break off. (See last pic.) Lastly, there's some missing paint, a few dents on the top, and a bit of rust. (You can use the cover to hide the flaws or display it nekkid to show off its battle scars.) As I mentioned before, this guy's been through a lot. I can't say for CERTAIN that it saw action in Vietnam, but it definitely COULD have.REQUISITIONED SUPPLIES: The cover is a U.S. one (from '82), but the band is newer - post-2000, if I had to guess. It's grey, and doesn't look BAD, but if you took a black Sharpie to it, it would look GREAT with the cover. Black bands always look better on these Woodland Pattern covers - in my opinion. Keep them on the helmet or don't, they're free regardless. (They were given to me recently, but I have no use for them - perhaps YOU do.)FINAL NOTE: I usually have a number of other items listed as well. I WILL put together bundle deals to save you money. Just let me know before buying. Also, I have a few spare (post-WWII) M1 parts, so just ask if you're looking for anything in particular.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please take a look at the pics and item specifics for any other information you may require. If you have any questions or need more pics, just ask - I'm here to help. At times, I DO end some listings early and without notice (if there are no bids or best offers pending). So bid, buy, or make me an offer early - before someone else does.Bundle Deals & Best Offers: In most cases, I CAN offer discounts if you're interested in purchasing more than one of my items. One example may be: buy one item - then get 10-40% off a second one (just let me know before buying/paying). I may also lower the price on certain individual items. I'm here to QUICKLY sell stuff, not to get top dollar. It never hurts to inquire about ANY listing(s), just keep in mind that someone else may buy it up in the time it takes for me to get back to you. So, please feel free to ask, as every polite offer or question will get a response!Payment & Shipping: Payment is expected within a couple of days and our listings are sold AS IS, therefore no refunds will be given. If you have any questions (or want more pics), please ask BEFORE buying. Also, if you have 10 or lower feedback, please contact me before buying. FREE USPS shipping to buyers with a U.S. address in ALL 50 States plus D.C. and our territories (including P.O. boxes) - but NO INTERNATIONAL.
