Description: VERY EARLY issue of Scientific American. Oct. 1853. 170 YEARS OLD!!! Pencil markings indicate this issue has the FIRST stereoscope. First page also shows what is considered an improvement for railroad wheel assemblies. ALSO improved paddlewheel design. This is good stuff! The pages are in very nice condition, though generally separated at spine. One pencil notation at top of front, and two holes on left side. I have provided enough pictures that I feel you can get a good idea of what you'll receive. BUT... if you have any questions, please contact me. I REALLY FEEL THAT YOU'LL BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND AN EARLIER ADDITION. Notice how low the page number are. The page numbers go from one issue to the next, so this is VERY early. This will be shipped in a hard mailer. IF YOU PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE OF MY LISTINGS I WILL MODIFY SHIPPING COSTS FOR THE PURCHASE. I CAN'T SHIP A BUNCH OF THESE FOR $7.00, BUT WILL SIMPLY ADD AN ADDITIONAL $1.50 FOR EACH EXTRA PIECE. IF YOU BUY FOUR (4), THE TOTAL SHIPPING WILL BE $11.50.
