Six became three, and those three were specifically selected for how they interact individually and with one another. As such, each FB, FF, and FZ option provides a versatile array of sound-shaping options. The I/O arrangement keeps inputs normalled to the previous mode’s output, but normalization can be broken with patching for more interoperative possibilities. FB, the first mode, utilizes a pair of bipolar transistors for a 2-stage asymmetrical topology. Silicon diodes are used in feedback for distinctive clipping that’s very reactive to waveform symmetry, resulting in nonlinear waveshaping. For hard-hitting, straightforward overdrive, the FF circuit uses feed-forward diode-clipping, capable of flexible saturation with a dash of uncertainty to keep things interesting without compromising its basic profile.
