Neoprene drive belts for 1959-1962 Lionel HO Diesels & Motor Repair Service

Description: Precision cut Neoprene drive belts for 1959 through 1962 Lionel dual and single belt drive diesel engines. This auction is for 4 belts. These are ¾ inch diameter neoprene drive belts, and are designed to transmit power and for durability, unlike rubber bands. They are the correct thickness so as not to put too much tension and friction on the drive train. The engines work great with them! A total of 4 drive belts are included in this auction, which is enough for 2 of the dual pulley drive engines or 4 of the single pulley drive engines, as used on some of the 1962 diesels. They are for the Alco diesels, GP-7&9 diesels and Rectifiers. They are too big for the 0050 gang car. These belts are getting harder to find and the costs have gone up. These belts are not for the 1958 Lionel/Athearn Hi-F drive engines. I have tested these belts on the following engines: 0535 SF Alco, 0564 C&O Alco, 0565 SF Alco, 0566 TS Alco, 0567 Alaska Alco, 0568 UP Alco, 0596 NYC GP-9, 0597 NP GP-9, 0598 NYC GP-7, 0581 Penn Rectifier, and 0591 NH Rectifier. These belts will also work in place of the Helic spring belts on the diesels if you are missing the spring belt. The 0605 and 0642 steam switchers each have a unique sized belt, both of which are smaller than the diesel belts. I have these belts available. Send me an ebay message if interested in these belts. I have replacement nylon worm gear clips if you need them. These are the nylon clips you remove to put these belts on. Lionel HO Motor Service I can do the following service on Lionel HO motors: * Remagnetize motors. – If the motor runs poorly after taking it apart it needs to be remagnetized. I have an original Lionel motor magnetizer. * Repair loose armature contacts - the brass plates that contact the motor brushes can come unglued. There is a thin insulation disc that they are glued to that can flake off. I have replacement insulating disc to repair/reglue the contact plates back on. If the wires soldered to the contact plate get ripped off the armature will have to be rewound. * Rewind armatures – The wires in the armature can short out if overheated, and will have to be rewound with new magnet wire.
