Zürich; Basel, Rietberg Museum; Museum für Völkerkunde. Art traditions in North India: tribal art, folk art, classical art: image catalog for the special exhibition "Unknown India" A small (64-page) but very interesting catalog of a 1972 exhibition at the Rietberg Museum in Zurich and the Museum für Völkerkunde, Basel. The catalog provide an insight of various artistic traditions of northern India including different forms of folk and tribal arts such as pottery, puppet-making, textiles, and more and some "classical art". Of particular interest are images of craftspeople in work showing the different stages of craft making. This appears to be a somewhat rare item. There are currently no listings of it on either eBay or Amazon. Two specialized European book sellers quote a high price and exorbitant shipping cost. Grab yours today!
