Description: KODAK 50th Anniversary Camera-1930, 'Brownie', 'Hawkeye II' In 1930 George Eastman began an ad campaign giving a free camera to any child that was turning 12 years old in that calendar year. In all, more than 500,000 cameras were given away in the US alone. A Canadian version was also released. The camera is not really uncommon, but ones in good condition are fairly rare. This one has its' leather strap handle intact and the gold foil on the stamp still in place, with a little wear visible. I have not actually shot pictures with this camera, but given the simplicity of the design, it is never far from operational. The shutter works fine. It is not adjustable. They used an older model for the campaign, the Hawkeye, for this 'giveaway'. I don't think it is officially a 'Brownie', but eBay has it listed like that in the pulldown menu. invshelf1
