Description: Hand Painted Porcelain Covered Vegetable Dish & Platter with Cordinating Wide Gold Band with Blue and Green Leaf and Flower (Forget Me Not ?) Accents There is slight variation seen in the hand painted embellishments from dish to platter. Both have a wide gold band with a similar blue flower and green leaf pattern. However, on the covered dish the flowers have round petals and the leaves have veins and on the platter tge flowers have pointy petals and no veins on the leaves. The platter bears a KPM Silesia makers mark. The mark was used by the German Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur from 1904 to 1927. Like many porcelain manufacturers at the time, among the items they produced were white underglazed blanks for other individuals and companies to paint or embellish. The covered dish bears a faint/faded Nippon mark, which dates the production of the porcelain blank to between 1891 and 1921. There are no artist signatures or company stickers to indicate who decorated these pieces. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or utencil marks on the pieces, with some evidence of wear/scuffs to the painted trim. Smoke-free home.
