Description: Antique Art Deco F Gornik Austrian Bronze Figural Birds Smoking Stand Match Holder. This is a Friedrich Gornik (1877-1943) antique work of art, probably circa 1920 in the Art Deco period. It is a Bronze Cigar Smoking Stand top with a match holder with a Pair of birds or lovebirds. It is stamped F Gornik with Austria foundry mark. Friedrich Gornik was born in Austria the latter part of the 19th century and studied sculpture at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. He first modeled animals for the porcelain manufacturers, then started having his works cast in bronze. He was a contemporary of Carl Kauba and was fascinated with the American west. The measurements are 6” long by 4” high.
