Description: This is an External SCSI Hard Drive Emulator for an Ensoniq EPS-16+ or EPS-16+R (rack). Think of it as a SCSI Solid State Hard Drive or SCSI Card Reader/Writer. It uses a 16GB micro SD Card for memory. This package includes an external ZuluSCSI RP2040 Emulator in a 3D printed box, 16GB SD Card, 3' DB25M to DB25M SCSI cable, a 5V external power supply with a USB to micro USB cable, EPS-16+ SCSI Manual pdf (emailed to you), and my "EPS-16+ SCSI Emulator Guide". Everything you need is included. The External case has a DB25M connector, SD card slot, and micro USB port. The 5V external power supply is used to power the emulator board. I have modified the ZuluSCSI RP2040 Emulator Board, so it works with an EPS-16+. A small wire was soldered to the Board, so it sends 5V to term power. After the Board is modified, it won't work with an ASR-10, unless you remove the added wire. Your EPS-16+ MUST have a SP-2 SCSI Board installed. If there's a DB25 SCSI connector on the back of your EPS-16+, you have a SCSI Board. If there's a blank panel that's labeled SCSI, you don't have a SCSI Board. I've copied 7 Hard Drive Images to the 16GB SD card. They are each 2GB, so a total of 14GB of storage on the SD card. 6 of the Hard Drive Images are filled with Ensoniq sounds (samples). They are named HD0, HD1, HD2, HD4, HD5 HD6, and HD7. Hard Drive SCSI ID# 0, ID# 1, ID# 2, ID# 4, ID# 5, ID# 6, and ID# 7. Ensoniq's internal SCSI ID# is 3. If you have any other SCSI drives, you need to let me know. I can change the name of the Hard Drive Images so you don't have a SCSI ID# conflict. I have setup directories and sub-directories, and saved 5,878 Ensoniq sounds to the 16GB micro SD card. I copied all of the sounds from Ensoniq CDR-1 through CDR-16, Master Violin Library CD, CyberSounds CD, Ultimate ASR-10 CD, and ASR-10 Rock Keys CD. You will receive documentation to show you how to navigate the directories. SCSI ID# 7 (2GB) is left empty so you can save your own sounds, sequences, songs, effects, etc. to the card. OS 1.30 is on the SD card, so you can Boot the EPS-16+ from the Emulator/SD card. The EPS-16+ has a limited memory. Some of the samples on the SD card are too large for an EPS-16+. To check how much memory your EPS-16+ has. Boot the unit, then push EDIT, then push SYSTEM/MIDI. My EPS-16+ shows Free System Blocks:4085. This external SCSI emulator is plug and play. The SD card is "hot-swap". The case is very small and light weight. The included external 5V USB power supply is the US, UK, UE, or AU wall style adapter, but will work in any country in the world. Its a switching adapter that uses 100-240V, 50-60 Hz. I have all 4 adapters in stock and will ship the correct one for your country. Email me with any questions.
