Description: Suppra Dam is a light-cured resin barrier for isolation of gingival tissue. Suppra Dam has the proper viscosity and is colored to help whenapplying. Before its light-cured, Suppra Dam is a paste and after its cured it becomes solid and insoluble to maintain adherence to the gingivalmargins. During the whitening session, Suppra Dam does not allow direct contact of the whitening gel to gingival margins. Once the whitening procedure is done, the barrier can be removed.Package containing: one syringe of NET WT. 0.07 OZ(2 g) and three disposable applicator tips.Suppra Dam Composition: HEMA, monomers of urethane di-methacrylate, inert load filler, pigments and phot initiators.Suppra Dam indication; The main indication for the product is to isolate gingival tissue during in-office whitening sessions, blocking the contact of the whitening gel. The product is also indicated to provide better sealing for total dam isolation, closing gaps that could occur.Precautions and contraindications The product must not be applied to unhealthy gingival tissue that is infected or inflamed.Incomplete curing of the product can lead to gingival irritation. Similar irritant effect may be noticed if the product is left uncured on gingiva for long periods of time. If a major reaction is noticed, discontinue treatment. During light-curing process the local temperature rises causing a slight sensation of heat or burning sensation on the gingiva.Instructions for useFor better access to the oral cavity, use a lip retractor. Dry the gingival tissue and teeth to be protected. With the applicator tip attached to the Suppra Dam syringe, apply a thin layer of the product (thickness of 1 – 1.5 mm) on the gingival marginsand interdental papilla to completely cover the areas. Suppra Dam must cover about 0.5 mm of enamel to avoid infiltration of fluids to the gingival sulcus. If there is exposed dentin, it should also be covered.Light cure* each segment of Suppra Dam – corresponding to 3 teeth – for 20 to 30 seconds with scanning motion. It is advisable to light curethe product right after application to avoid eventual irritation caused by the uncured resin. After applying, make sure Suppra Dam covers all the gingival margins and that it is completely cured and attached to gingiva. Use a dental mirror to evaluate the application from different angles. If a gap is noticed, add more Suppra Dam and light cure it.Only remove Suppra Dam after the whitening gel is totally removed from teeth (use saliva ejector and then water spray). Then, use a round instrument (to avoid injuries) to lift and detach Suppra Dam from the gingiva.
