Keanie (February 27, 1871 - May 24, 1931) was born to a building family, associated with addresses at Calder Street, Church Street, and Braevar, Braehead, where Keanie grew up in an industrious environment, learning as much about the construction trade as possible. By the time Keanie was in his thirties, he was running a successful building firm, locally known as Keanie’s, that specialized in private housing, which was in high demand in the area. In the following decades, Keanie’s erected around 4000 homes in the Johnstone and Paisley area. FORN-SHELF-0542-XX-2406-JC915
