Description: Austin Seen This book contains 54 selected B&W photographs which were juried into a display shown at the Austin History Center in 1984 and then on exhibit for 3 months. The purpose of the new collection was to submit works that would “show a recognizability of people, places and events or an essence in this area.” Most of the photos have cut lines with additional information. There are two essays about photography in this city with an additional 12 examples of historical photography relating to Austin. The photographs display includes a variety of photographers as well as many different subjects. These are: particular events, buildings, individuals, tasks which people in Austin do, people at recreation and at work, particular neighborhood locations, and even interiors of certain buildings. Published by the Austin History Center in 1984. 11 ½” X 7 ½”. Book is unpaged This paperback is in very good condition with slight shelf wear at the bottom and two works written on the inside front cover. See my current listings for other books.
