Description: Up for sale is a very unique paper labeled 1930s ABM amber beer bottle from PA. The bottle itself has no embossing except for on the base "37" likely a 1937 date code, a "G" in a square glass factory mark, and "1245", just some mold numbers. But at front it has its original polychromatic paper label for Seitz BEER - it's got a pictorial trade mark of a chunky bald eagle carrying hops and barley in its talons and beak. The label is also printed with "EXCEEDS PRE PROHIBITION ALCOHOLIC CONTENT" which I think is a hilarious boast to make. It also reads "SEITZ BREWING CO. / EASTON PA / BOTTLED AT THE BREWERY" and more. It's 9 1/2" tall and about 2 1/2" in diameter at the base. Everybody knows Seitz of Easton, Pennsylvania for their 19th century bottles, various squats and pontil sodas, blobs, etc... but they survived as a company a long time, through Prohibition, and even survived Prohibition itself as this label makes sure to boast. Gotta be 80+ years of bottling history you can collect across, I'm not all that familiar but still. It's in excellent condition with the glass essentially perfect, having some minor interior grime (and dead bugs...). The label is great too with a couple small creases, a tear/loss at the lower left corner, but otherwise pretty good and with exceptionally vivid ink still. It's very attractive. You could do a lot worse for an example of this unusual late Seitz bottle! Satisfaction guaranteed, if you're not in love after handling it in person I'm happy to accept returns. Shipped via USPS Priority Mail at buyer's expense, or pickup in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
