Description: Antique 19th C American Federal Wood Eagle Nautical Convex Federal Mirror For your consideration is an authentic 19th Century American Federal mirror which symbolizes maritime supremacy of the seas. It features carved wooden heraldic eagle, perched on a platform.The decorative black banded wooden frame with balls holds a convex mirror. A unique carved one of a kind Eagle carving with carved and scrolled leaf design embellish the top finial and bottom grape crest. It presents extremely well for its age but needs some areas of restoration if desired: the mirror has some de-silvering. There was a repair on the wings which had split with the grain. There are some small areas of missing wood on the bottom leaf and eagle wings, under the edges and on top of the bottom crest. Marker's mark on the back marked by a carved "B". Please refer to photographs closely. It measures 35 1/2 high, 18" wide and the eagle is the thickest measuring 3". Disassembles into 4 pieces. Will be shipped disassembled to prevent shipping damage.
