Description: Description7-10 October 1985, Henry Wood Hall, London (No. 21) 20-24 July 1986 (No. 22 and 23), 19-21 June Adrian Boult Holst The Planets (1966) SACD Hybrid TOWER RECORDSJohn's Smith Square, Londonn Adrian Boult Holst The Planets (1966) SACD Hybrid TOWER RECORDSProduct introduction <40th Anniversary of Boult's Death> <(2024) 150th Anniversary of Holst's Birth & 90th Anniversary of His Death> The latest reprint of the 1966 recording on the old EMI with the New Philharmonia Orchestra from the new home analog master tape. A historical masterpiece that shines with passion even in its sincere conducting. Excellent recording. New Japanese explanation included Planned for 40 years after Boult's death. Furthermore, the following year, 2024, marks the 150th anniversary of Holst's birth and 90th anniversary of his death, and two types of "Planets", stereo recordings recorded by Boult on the former EMI label, have been newly digitized and given the latest mastering. This is an album co-starred with the New Philharmonia Orchestra in 1966, and it has been hidden for many years in the shadow of the later recording in 1978, but the sincere attitude that follows the essence of the songs is intact, and the interior has a subtle sound. The fiery performance is attractive. Also, please enjoy the differences in sound quality and performance due to differences in recording time and orchestra. For this release, the master was digitized at 192kHz/24bit from the original analog master tape in Japan, and the SACD layer and CD layer were mastered separately. With new explanation. This is a permanent preservation record. "Planet" will be reprinted as the 40th anniversary of Boult's death in 2023, and the 150th anniversary of Holst's birth and 90th anniversary of Holst's death in 2024. Reprint). This is a British masterpiece. Normally, it is rare to reprint the same song at the same time, but on this occasion, by reprinting both sound sources at the same time, which have many things in common, we have decided to release them under the same reprint conditions. These two "Planets", especially the last 1978 edition, are sound sources that have been reissued many times even in the CD era, and both have been released on SACD. This 1966 recording with the New Philharmonia Orchestra was recorded shortly after the recording with the Vienna Opera Orchestra in 1959, and was recorded by Vault with an orchestra in his home country in the stereo era. It attracted attention. At that time, the New Philharmonia Orchestra had only been reorganized by Klemperer for less than two years, and there were concerns about its management. He was performing at a high level. There are not many recordings with Boult, but after this he recorded Vaughan Williams' Symphony No. 6 in 1968, and since then he has recorded two more songs, and since then he has continued to record with the London Philharmonic and has released a complete collection of symphonies. It has been completed (it will be reprinted in this project in 2022 as TDSA225). This recording and the 1978 version were recorded at the same Kingsway Hall, and although the producers are different, the engineer was Christopher Parker. The 1978 edition is also a combination with Christopher Bishop, and this difference is also interesting. The other difference is the orchestra and the year, so I think it's a recording that you'll want to listen to and compare, including the subtle differences in vault's interpretation. Of course, the conditions aren't necessarily the same, but I don't think there's ever been an example that has come this close in terms of the latest digitization and mastering at the same time. Please listen to both. Also, we have added a coupling song this time. A masterpiece by Vaughan Williams, these are also an important part of Boult's acclaimed legacy. In this series, the SACD layer aims for high resolution and a rich sound field with extended high frequencies and soft nuances, while the CD layer aims for a realistic tone that is pushed out with a solid sound. The CD itself has great potential, so please enjoy it as an SACD hybrid disc that allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds. In addition, new Japanese text by Mr. Notake Hiyama has been included in the manual.
