Description: A 3 cell faradic battery. This device produced high voltage pulsating DC currents that were believed to cure all sorts of aliments.In reality it did temporarily block pain and the modern version of this unit is a TENS device. There were at least 3 versions of this battery made that I am aware of .This is the earliest and first version. It is housed in a nice Oak case and the battery drawer was removed by loosening two thumbnuts and pulling the drawer out. New batteries were installed in the drawer and wires connected. There are metal strips on the drawer that made connection when it was pushed in and the nuts secured.Later versions of the unit were made with cheaper stained pine cases and the top panel of the coil had to be removed and the batteries were placed inside the base and wired up and the panel removed.It does present well and gives nice shocks if you want to fit it with batteries and check wiring!
