He was known for his extensive work in collecting and editing historical documents, especially those related to English history. His library was rich works related to English antiquities, manuscripts, and early printed books.With the stamp of the Gloucester County Library to the verso of the title page, and library stamps and bookplates to the front pastedown. With two tipped in bibliographical clippings.Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece. CONDITION In a half cloth binding with paper covered boards. Significant loss to back strip label. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Library bookplates and stamps to front pastedown. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Stamp to verso of title page. Pages clean and bright.
