Description: This fine entire sent from Retford to London 13th March 1843.The fine OL plate 34 is tied to the cover via a scarce much sort after full Retford Maltese Cross. The plate 34 shows excellent Horizontal guidelines through the letter squares. Catalogue value for this plate is £120 without the added value of a scarce Retford Maltese Cross. Rockoff & Jackson Vol 2 illustrates the Retford Maltese Cross. There are no obvious faults with the entire other than the light fold which does not detract from the entire or the stamp. It is in a clean condition retaining the Red Monogramed gothic 'M' wax seal. If you collect Maltese Cross covers this is ideal for any collection.
