It is the 13c Flag over Independence Hall printed on the Giori Combination Press. The 1981 reprint variety is perforated 11¼. The Americana series stamps were originally printed on Huck press with different perf. measurement (sold separately). This variety is less common than the original printing. An interesting feature is that the block tagging on the face can often be seen without a uv lamp. It has been described as a brown "hinge mark" on the front of the stamp. It is not a hinge mark and is a normal printing feature. Thirteen cents met the USPS First Class 1 oz domestic letter rate from Dec. 1975 until May 1978. Then they paid additional oz rate until Mar. 1981 and later the postcard rate. Read on to learn more about the different 1622 varieties 1622 Created on the Huck Press 1622 is perf. 11 x 10½ The selvage is on the top or bottom of the sheet. It has large block tagging. These are slightly shorter than 1622C. Bullseye perforations and shiny gum. 1622C Created on the Giori A Press 1622C is perf. 11¼ x 11¼ The selvage is on the left or right of the pane.
